A little "golden" Kit

Well it wasn't a small box that had arrived on that particular day, maybe more than 18 months ago...I had ordered the specialised kit from Gordon Harris art supplies here in New Zealand. A selection of the Golden brand paints, gels, pastes, grounds etc. I browsed through the booklet and said "YESSH I can do that"...

But I didn't, I repurposed the packing box as it would hold a lot of things, decanted the small bottle/tubes of things. Bought some DAS mini canvases AND THAT WAS THAT...

I had bought them to do with my art program, but then discovered via admin that in fact I was done, "doing" and so that was the reason, to store...

THE KIT UNFOLDS!

I took the booklet out and set it all up and I'm working on the projects.

The first project is in it's final drying mode, apparently will take 2 days to dry

The drawing on the canvas isn't what's in the booklet BECAUSE frankly I should have followed my heart and not the tool suggested. But I'm okay with the outcome, because there is plenty of the supplies left to do it again, if I wish

(I've taken it off the old chopping board, which does somehow fit with the colouring as you can see)

Project #2 is underway

You are rich! Plenty of materials to play with. I feel that way too, even though my little projects aren't about art.
yep, "rich" in materials - and although it could look like the "virus hoarders" it's not. But it does mean that the end, I might need to go art shopping!!!

well if one must shop... that's the kind to enjoy!
I love thinking of what I "see" in a modern piece like this.
this morning I see a cruise ship and fireworks in the sky! :D

How fun. I always enjoy trying something new. I often find that I tend to do things a bit different than what is instructed. I guess maybe I like to put my own original spin on things.
tammy: in hindsight it was a good idea, because the online shop knew I would love to do it right now! It's still very wet, this morning, got a blob on my index finger to prove it...but it's not moving as in paint sliding across so it's a good paint. I think that one had a paste mixed in with the paint.

I see your cruise ship but then I think it looks like it might be sinking - stern up...

Ann: yes it's nice to play around with it, especially as all the ingredients are within the kit...I just have read carefully some of the white tubes with the extras in them. I was REALLY trying to follow the drawing but of course, I know in my heart I won't be able to...

Everyone: someone at our art school alumni page said "is that the one with the pear?" and I replied with something like "I think you could be right..." and then we had a wee chat about how my pear had gone off on another pathway...and why, to do with my hands. Suddenly I was doing it all right according to the questioner...
I can't wait until the day when I can play with my paints and brushes and make cool things like you do. I could do it now but the guilt that I should be doing something else always takes the fun away, so I have to live vicariously through people like you.
thanks...I've already reached retirement - and ditched a good many objects from my life - so yes once you've all settled in your new home, there will be time to create...

Golden paints and gels are my favorite too!
Susan as I work with them...I see they are far better than a brand I had been using, which clogs and some of the paint tubes have just give up the ghost, whereas some of the Golden paints I'd as long are still flowing.

My next post shows I've had to stop momentarily...well on a daily basis.
